Tasman School - KidsZone

In 2005 Tasman School established the Tasbay Kids OSCAR programmes. These programmes provide after school and holiday care and recreation for children from the Tasman and Mapua communities.

Our capable OSCAR staff is lead by supervisor, Sal Randall. She is assisted by Maureen, Aly and Lisa.

Afterschool Programme

This programme operates 5 days a week from 3pm to 5.30. Being CYFs approved families can access WINZ subsidy to help with the cost of care. Staff provide a variety of activities for children. On Tuesdays the Sports Skill Club allows students to develop coordination and motor skills in a fun environment under the tutelage of sport guru Lee Corlett.

Wednesday we have the ever popular cooking club, where student have a chance to make something yummy to take home. The last club we are running at the moment is Dance with Rebecca. Rebecca is a professional dance instructor and is currently running three class on a Thursday from 4pm. Rebecca's classes cover introduction to Dance, Jazz and, the ever popular, Hiphop.

Children enrolled in for the week can join any and all of the clubs if they wish.

Holiday Programmes

For one week of each of the school holidays. These programmes provide a variety of exciting activities.

Each day is broken into two sessions and each session has a fun theme. Information on what is happening on our holiday programmes is available in the Boredoms Busters Magazine or from the school office.
