About the role
We’re looking for a skilled and caring teacher to join our small, committed team in 2026. This position is for a Y2–3 class, beginning at the start of term 1, 2026.
Tasman School is a vibrant, family-oriented rural primary with a growing roll of 124 children, set in the heart of a supportive and engaged community. You’ll work alongside a collegial, experienced team who value evidence-based practice, collaboration, and strong relationships with learners and whānau.
About you
You’ll be someone who:
Builds strong relationships with tamariki and whānau, fostering a warm and inclusive classroom.
Brings calm, consistent energy and creates a purposeful, engaging learning environment.
Has a clear, structured approach to teaching and learning, grounded in evidence-based practice.
Works collaboratively within a team, contributes positively to our school culture, and reflects on their practice.
An advantage:
Training or experience in Structured Literacy or other evidence-based literacy approaches.
Familiarity with the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum and evidence based approaches for behaviour management.
